Tara Desel, PLADC

Hello,

My name is Tara Desel, PLADC and I specialize in working with adolescents who are navigating the challenges of substance use and addiction.

With 11 years of experience in adolescent behavioral health and addiction recovery, I understand that this stage of life can be especially complex—for both teens and their families.

My goal through Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) is to create a safe, structured, and supportive environment where young people can heal, build resilience, and regain a sense of control over their lives.

My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing. I also integrate trauma- informed care and strengths-based methods to meet each adolescent where they are and help them reconnect with their values, goals, and sense of self.

In our IOP program, adolescents are given the tools to better understand their behaviors, manage triggers, repair relationships, and make healthier choices—without stepping away from school or family life entirely. I also work closely with caregivers to support the family system, offer education, and promote long-term recovery at home.

Recovery is not a straight line, but with the right guidance and support, change is absolutely possible. I’m here to walk that path with you—one step at a time.

Best,
Tara Desel, PLADC
