Amanda Smith, MA, LIMHP, LPC

Amanda Smith (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner and a Licensed Professional Counselor. Amanda believes therapy is each person’s own unique journey towards wellness. Working in a partnership we will work through your journey of healing with you in the lead and in charge of your growth, healing and wellness. Amanda works with adolescents and adults.

Amanda earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling/Psychology from Crown College in 2015. Amanda completed her counseling internship with Southern Iowa Mental Health Center and graduated with her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Crown College in 2020. Amanda’s professional employment experiences include working for a community health center at three locations, mental health counseling on site at a school district, prior to graduation with her Master’s she was an FSRP worker, Foster/Adoptive Parent, Care Coordinator, and volunteered with the local 4H and Girl Scouts.  

Amanda has over 165 CEU hours specialized training. Some of the areas of training include:  in women’s health, reproductive care, infertility, grief, trauma-focused, and adolescents. 

Outside of work, Amanda enjoys time with her family and their dogs. Amanda’s hobbies are being in nature, being around farms and livestock, spending time with family and friends, reading for fun and to learn, photography, crafting, being involved in the faith community, and community involvement.
